HPSTL adds another Olympian to its alumni, another active athlete to the Mens Junior National Team, and its first athlete to make the Mens Senior Deaf National Team.

Murphy Troy, a 2007 HPSTL Alum, has been named to his first Olympic team. The 6'8" opposite hitter has been in the USA system since he was a 15 year old with High Performance and playing on the Youth National Team. Troy continued his playing career with USA on the Junior National Team as well as being a member of the Senior Mens Team for the past several years. Murphy is the 3rd Olympian Coached by HPSTL coaches. He joins Phil Eatherton (2004, Athens) and Gold Medalist, Scott Touzinsky (2008, Beijing).

George Huhmann (HPSTL '16) recently was named to his second consecutive USA team as a member of the Junior National Team. Last year he was a member of the Youth National Team that competed in Argentina. George started every match this year for the Junior National Team, who just won the NORCECA U21 Continental Championship and qualified for the 2017 FIVB World Championships. Will Hippe (17 Royal) was named an alternate on the JNT this year. He was the youngest member for the JNT training roster.

Another 17 Royal player, Ethan Bell, was named the the Mens Deaf National Team. Ethan played with the team in Washington DC before heading to Dallas for the Boy's Junior National Championships. Ethan was named Best Attacker for the in Washington DC, which is extremely impressive as most athletes were in their 20s or 30s.
