The boys of HPSTL traveled to Indianapolis for their second and final qualifier of the year to compete in the Dennis Lafata Classic. The tournament is usually held in St. Louis in conjunction with the girls President's Day Tournament, but due to a growing field for the girls tournament, the boys had to jump to Indianapolis for one year.

And what a successful tournament it was! Our 18 Royal and 14 Orange teams swept the competition to take home the tournament championships for 18 Open and 14 Club respectively. 18 Royal was able to avenge a finals loss against Adversity that they suffered in Chicago by beating them in two in the finals this time. 

16 Royal placed 5th in the tournament and took home an Open Bid to Boy's Junior National Championships in Columbus this summer. This bid already gives HPSTL 4 Open bids, which leads the Gateway Region yet again! Other stellar finishes include 17 Royal-3rd, 17 Orange-9th, 16 White-9th, 14 Royal- 7th, 13 Royal-8th in 14 Open, and 13 Orange-7th in 14 Club. Altogether, nine HPSTL teams finished in the top 10, including the two 13s teams that played against 14 year olds all weekend. Way to go fellas!

The first ever Gateway League came to its conclusion for 13s-18s and HPSTL has made it's mark as a top club in the region. Overall nine teams finished in the top ten of their respective divisions and in the 18s Power Division 17 Royal, 18 Royal, IL 17 Elite, and 16 Royal took home 2nd, 3rd, 5th, and 10th place finishes respectively! 17 Royal, 16 Royal, and 13 Royal finished higher than every other team in their age groups!

16 Orange brought home the highest win percentage against foreign opponents at .857%. They took home 3rd in the 16s Premier Division after only having two losses over the six dates of play and each of those went to a tiebreaker set. 15 White earned a 6th place finish in the 16s Premier Division, 14 National and 16 Royal tied for 9th in the 15s Power Division, while 14 Orange took 2nd in the 14s Premier Division.
