The boys add three more Top 10 finishes for HPSTL

The young guns led the way for HPSTL as 12 Royal and 13 Royal brought back Top 10 finishes by finishing 9th and 8th respectively. 14 Royal also had a nice run as they finished one match below .500 in 14 Open. They were one of only two HPSTL teams that finished sub .500 at BJNC, which is amazing considering the competitiveness and parody that currently exists in juniors boys volleyball.

15 Royal made huge strides since last year at 14s. This years team finished .500 in Columbus after earning an Open bid in 2017, something that escaped them in 2016.

16 Royal finished 15th in Open after being knocked out of Gold by losing two three-setters. A few points the other way and they easily could have been chomping at a Top 10 finish. 16 Orange finished .500 after being knocked out of Gold on a tough Day 2.

HPSTL sent the most teams at the 17s age group, where 17 Royal had a tremendous run on their way to a 9th place finish in Open. After battling on Day 3 and being knocked from Gold, 17 Royal rebounded to win the Silver Bracket and secure their Top 10 finish. 17 Orange had an incredible .700 win percentage, but ran into a buzzsaw of teams in their second pool, which knocked them from Gold. 17 White put together a great tournament before falling to 17 Orange, which gave them their 31st place finish and a winning record.

Lastly, it was a difficult tournament for the 18s as they played with a heavy heart after the passing of Rob Hippe, father of 18 Royal's Will Hippe. 18 Royal still managed to finish with a .600 record, while 18 Orange struggled to put together wins in Columbus. Both teams had incredible seasons and we wish all the boys the best as they continue their careers at the next level.
