2018: All Teams are Full Go

Girls start the year off right

All of the girls HPSTL teams were in action last weekend and found a lot of success. 11 Royal went undefeated on their way to a tournament championship at Belleville West high school. 11 Orange took third overall after a tough semifinal loss, 11 White made a great run through the Silver bracket, and IL 11 Future finished runner-up in the Silver bracket!

12 Royal finished second in their tournament, while 12 Orange lost in the Gold playoffs. 12 Gray found their stride as they finished second in Silver.

The rest of the HPSTL teams (13s-18s) competed in the Gateway League, where the club managed a .610 win percentage. 18s proved to be HPSTL's strongest collective age group as 18 Royal swept the Open pool, 18 Elite took first in the 18s pool and 18 Orange took second in the 18s pool. 17s kept the winning trend going as 17 Elite and 17 Royal finished 1st and 2nd respectively in the 17s pool. 17 Orange finished 4-1 and each of the 17s regional teams found wins.

16 Royal took second in their pool to stay up in 18s Power A division, while 15 Royal also took second in their pool to stay up in the 18s Power division. IL 152 Select made the biggest moves of the weekend as they finished 4-2 on the weekend!

14 Royal swept the weekend to move into the 15s Power division, while 14 orange finished 4-1 for a great start to the season. The 13s also had a great weekend overall as 13 Royal, Orange, White, and Select all finished with winning records.

Boys play for bids and championships

Boys 15, 17 and 18 Royal all headed to California for their first bid tournament of the year. 15 Royal finished 11th, 17 Royal finished 14th  and 18 Royal finished 15th. Both 17 and 18 Royal were 1 set away from earning a bid. The teams look to grab that bid this weekend in Chicago.

Boys 14 Royal went undefeated at 12-0 to win the SEMO fest in Cape Girardeau and the rest of the boys teams played in Cape Girardeau in the Gateway Regional Championships. At the Championships, 18 Orange outlasted 18 Illinois as the two have been neck and neck all year. at the 16s division, 16 Gray beat 16 Orange. While this is the first time regionals were held in Cape, the results repeated themselves with HP bringing home the hardware!
