Our History

In 2008 two of the most successful junior amateur volleyball organizations in the St. Louis area, St. Louis High Performance Volleyball Club and Team St. Louis Volleyball Club, combined to form a single non-profit corporation, High Performance-STL.

Team St. Louis earned national recognition by providing their athletes with the most knowledgeable and qualified coaches possible. Since 1989, Team St. Louis’ coaches challenged their athletes to execute and compete at the highest possible level. That challenge was validated by an amazing number of accomplishments. Its teams earned seven gold, silver, or bronze medals at the USAV Girl’s National Championships and several of its players were named to USAV All-Tournament teams.  In addition, a number of Team St. Louis’ athletes were selected as High School All-Americans and for more than ten years, 97% of the Team St. Louis athletes received college, athletic scholarships.

St. Louis High Performance coaches and players earned national recognition by competing at an elite level for eight seasons in boys' volleyball. With the commitment to provide exceptionally dedicated coaches to train players to compete at the highest level, the teams from St. Louis High Performance produced an exceptional list of accomplishments. St. Louis High Performance has trained players that have gone on to play for the USAV Olympic Team, the USAV Junior National Team, NCAA All-American Teams, the USAV Youth National Team, and players that have attended USAV High Performance Camps. St. Louis High Performance trained over 100 athletes who were named to St. Louis All-Metro Teams and over 150 players who have played on High School State Championship Teams. During their eight seasons 87 out of 99 graduating St. Louis High Performance seniors were offered scholarships to play college volleyball. Every year since 2001, St. Louis High Performance’s teams finished in the Top 10 at the USAV Boys’ Junior National Tournament, and in 2007 the St. Louis High Performance 18-and-Under team became the first non-West Coast or Hawaii team to capture the 18 Open National Championship at the boys' USAV Boys’ Junior National Tournament.

In 2008 High Performance - STL Volleyball Club was incorporated as a Missouri non-profit organization with a mission to grow elite volleyball in the St. Louis metro area by providing exceptionally dedicated coaches to train athletes at the highest level. Through this training players develop a love for the game, learn life lesson, and have the ability to pursue volleyball in college and beyond.

High Performance’s Board of Directors recognized that to maintain the level of achieved success and to facilitate continued growth they would have to professionalize their organization and secure talented leadership. In October 2008, the St. Louis High Performance Volleyball Club Board of Directors voted to combine with Team St. Louis.

High Performance - STL Volleyball Club has quickly become one of the most successful girls’ club in the Gateway region and is beginning to gain national recognition. The boys’ division remains one of the top five clubs in the country for boys’ volleyball and continues to place teams at the highest levels during national competition. High Performance-STL prides itself in providing — both boys and girls — an exceptional environment for each athlete to grow both as a player and as an individual. Each year marks club wide improvements and continued successes. High Performance STL is positioned to be a regional and national youth volleyball leader for many years to come, and will continue to provide its families, in what our opinion is the best club volleyball experience St. Louis has to offer.
