It is my absolute pleasure to announce that Scott Touzinsky has been hired as the newest coach and staff member of High Performance (“HP”). I have known Scott personally since he was a 9-year-old gym rat who we couldn’t keep off the floor of Vianney HS during warm-ups. I have watched Scott grow as a player and person over the last 28 years and couldn’t be more excited to have him back home in our HP gym. This will not be Scott’s first time back in our gym as he has led our elite camps over the last 3 years. He has been one of our athlete’s favorite camp coaches, and I am thrilled to have Scott in our gym teaching our players and coaches on a long-term basis.
For those of you not aware, Scott is the most successful and most decorated volleyball player and coach to ever call St. Louis home. 4 x Missouri State Champion, 2 x JNC National Champion, 2 x NCAA All-American, 2 x NCAA Champion, 13-year Professional Volleyball Career, and Olympic Gold Medalist. All these awards and accolades are secondary to Scott, as he loves the game of volleyball and loves teaching it.
Scott will have several roles at HP. Scott will be heavily involved in our positional and skill training sessions as a lead coach. He will also serve as a mentor coach for all of HP coaches at all 3 locations (STL, HP/SMVA South, and Illinois). As a mentor coach he will run coaching sessions and clinics for our staff. He will also lead several of our camps and clinics across all locations. Lastly, he will be the Associate Boys Director for STL and head coach of Boys 16Royal.
I cannot wait for all of our athletes to work with Scott. He is an energetic and passionate coach who I know will inspire the next Olympian from High Performance!
Welcome home Scott!!!
