Across all divisions in collegiate volleyball this past weekend, Hi-P alums were catalysts in signature victories for their programs.

In the NAIA, Coach Chris Nichols’ (18 Royal) Missouri Baptist Spartans got the signature win they may very well need in their quest for the post season as they took down NAIA and AMC powerhouse Columbia College.  LIbero Haley Pouliezos (2012) paced the Spartans defense against the size and power of the Cougar offense by racking up 22 digs.

Defense was the order of the day in NCAA D2 for our alums as well.  Hi-P Alum Ryan Young coached up his UMSL Tritons to two huge GLVC victories at home this past weekend.  Junior setter Lindsay Meyer (2012) led the Tritons in wins against Missouri S & T and Drury.  Lindsay posted double/doubles in both of those matches with 27 assists/15 digs and 35 assists/11 digs respectively.  Across town in St. Charles, Lindenwood University picked up a key MIAA victory over Fort Hays State.  Sophomore Libero Anna Reichert held down the fort defensively with 20 digs in the 4 set contest.

In NCAA D1 action, Samford picked up 2 SOCON victories and sophomore left side Erin Bognar (2013) was a force at the net.  Erin hit .500 for the weekend smashing 12 kills against The Citadel and then smashing another 16 kills against Mercer.  On the east coast, Fordham picked up their first A-10 victory of the year by beating LaSalle.  Brennan Delsing (2012) was perfect on the night in the win collecting 9 kills on 20 attempts with zero errors.

More great action this weekend across all divisions.  Look for television action on ESPNU, The SEC Network, The PAC12 Network, The BIG10 Network and the Longhorn Network…and GO Hi-P!!!
