Hard Work In The Practice Gym Paying Off in Competition

From the 11’s to the 18’s, there has been a lot of hard work in our practice gym, and the results are showing the product of that hard work.  All of our teams are putting up good numbers in Premier League with a club cumulative record of 72-40.  Premier League contains four of the largest clubs in the Gateway Region, and our teams are shaking up at the top of the standings while playing and competing at an extremely high level.

The high school age groups have finished the Pool Play stage of Premier League, and High Performance has placed a team in either First or Second in every age group including First in both 18’s and 17’s and Second in both 16’s and 15’s.  The Champions Round of Premier League will take place later in February.

The Intra-Age Day of Premier League was not only a productive day for all of our high school aged teams as they prepare for President’s Day and ultimately the Qualifier season; but it was also a very successful day.  The club racked up a 16-8 record on that competitive day coming in First place in the top two pools!

The Grade School ages have also had a tremendous start in Premier League.  14 Orange, 13 Royal and 13 White are all undefeated, and 14 Royal is sitting with only 1 loss so far.   The level of intensity and energy in our practice gym has been very high and the participation in our After School Program by the 13’s and 14’s has been incredible.  The coaches and players deserve all of the great results they are getting because of the focus and work ethic in the practice gym.

Along the way, the club has picked up a couple of Championships in single day tournaments as well.  18 Royal and 17 Orangel both participated in a Stratman Sports Series Tournament in Alton, IL on January 25th.  18 Royal took home the championship in the 18’s Division and 17 Orange took home Gold in the 17’s Division.  Congrats to Coach Chris (18 Royal) and Coach Amar (17 Orange) and all of the players!!!  Keep up the great work!!!

Gateway Girls Festival and President’s Day loom large on the schedule coming up in February as we prepare for the Qualifier Season.  Progress by all of our teams has met if not exceeded our expectations so far.  That being said, lots of work to be done, and lots of confidence that more positive results lie ahead.
