Hannah Marshall Earns SLIAC Offensive Player of the Week Honors

Week 3 in Women’s Collegiate Volleyball saw High Performance Alums performing well across all levels of play.  The weekend honors were highlighted by another alum garnering conference weekly honors once again.  Westminster College’s outside hitter Hannah Marshall (class of 2014) was named SLIAC Offensive Player of the Week.  Hannah’s weekend was highlighted by an .818 hitting percentage in a 3 set win over Harris Stowe State University.

Defensive Dandies

2 alums had impressive weekends keeping the ball alive for their programs over the weekend.  SIUE’s Emma Leahy (class of 2016) collected 12 digs vs Bryant.  Not to be outdone, Tennessee Tech’s Kristen Brugere (class of 2015) had 15 digs vs Middle Tennessee State.

Dishing It Out

3 HPSTL Setters had big numbers over the weekend.  USC-Upstate’s Madison Haake (class of 2015) led the way with 49 assists, 11 digs, 5 kills and an ace vs Liberty.  Kennesaw State’s Kristi Piedmont (class of 2014) led her team to a win vs Georgia Tech handing out 42 assists and collecting 12 digs along the way.  St Louis University’s Ashley Gagen (class of 2013) helped her team to an impressive win vs the University of Virginia as she handed out 29 assists and also had 9 digs.

Lighting It Up

Last but not least, a bunch of alums lit it up offensively around the country.  Samford’s Erin Bognar (class of 2013) had another impressive match as she put away 16 kills vs Wichita State.  Southwest Minnesota State’s Sarah Parker (class of 2013) had two standout matches vs top teams in NCAA Division 2 as she put away 15 kills vs Concordia St Paul and another 15 kills vs Colorado School of Mines.  Mallory Moran (class of 2015) helped Texas A&M Corpus Christi in a win over UT-Arlington putting away 14 kills in the effort.

This coming weekend will be the last for non-conference action in collegiate volleyball.  Check TV listings and check local teams schedules for action and get out and watch our alums while you watch good volleyball.  Notable, Lindenwood University and McKendree University play each other in Lebanon, IL on Tuesday September 13th.  Also, St. Louis University will be hosting their final tournament of the year with a big match against the University of Illinois.
