Since the 18U girls' national tournament is being held the last weekend of April, their Gateway Region Bid Tournament was held on Sunday, March 12th at Belleville West High School. 18 Royal came out victorious on the day with an undefeated record and the National Bid to GJNC in Dallas. Our Illinois 18 Select team finished 7th and 18 Orange finished 9th. Each team still has another shot to earn a bid at MEQ in Indianapolis at the end of the month. Good luck girls!

There were also some local tournaments this weekend for HPSTL's younger teams. 13 White came out as the tournament champions at the HP 13s event. The win was extra special, as the team's head coach, Sammi McCloud, will be leaving the team at the end of the season as she has accepted a Division I college coaching position.

The grade school boys also finished their Ladder Series tournament this past weekend with HPSTL sweeping the Gold Division. 14 Royal finished 1st, 14 Orange finished 2nd, and 13 Royal finished 3rd. 14 White finished with a 6th place finish and 13 Orange won the Silver Division to take 9th place overall. Great job boys! The future looks bright!
