Even if the weather won't cooperate we are up and running with our beach teams! We are a few weeks into our Spring Beach session and it has been a lot of fun! If you aren't already involved get signed up and come join us as we compete in sand doubles. It's true, the absolute best way to get better on the indoor court is to play outdoor doubles! Visit our Outdoor page on the website to learn more!
The past couple weekends we have sent 22 of our teams to compete at one of the toughest tournaments of the year, Kansas City's Show Me Qualifier! With our 22 teams we compiled an impressive 105-76 record and had 8 of our teams end up in the top 5. While there were no more bids given out this weekend we saw a lot of success and improvement as we continue into the final month of qualifier season for our girls travel teams. Our final qualifying events will be Minneapolis and the Gateway Bid event, good luck to all girls competing!
Also, last weekend saw regionals for our grade school girls and regional boys teams. Our boys swept the 12s, 14s, 16s, and 18s divisions! Our girls also had sweeps in the 12s and 14s divisions! Awesome weekend down in Cape to show our Gateway power!
Finally, this month saw a few more signings from our seniors! Ashley Kekeisen committed to Canisius College, Kaylee Hanger committed to North Dakota State University, Auston Bonte committed to Lewin University, Patrick Geldmeier committed to Fort Wayne, Ryan Whealen committed to NYU, and we even had two juniors, Katherine Koch (Southern Indiana) and Julia Brooks (IUPUI) verbally commit to their schools. Very cool to see the hard work of these kids pay off, being a student athlete is no easy task!
Upcoming this weekend we have regionals for our high school girls here in St. Louis. Let's keep making a bang in the Gateway region!
